You may be backing off from dating because you are tired of spending money taking out people who are in the end, nothing more than a first date. The great news is that you don't have to spend a lot of money on a date, you just need to change your idea of what a date has to be. It doesn't matter where you live or who you're dating, there are a lot of interesting things that you can do that will cost you little to nothing.

If you live near the beach there is nothing better than packing a lunch and hitting the beach together for the day. Depending on where you live you may be able to splash and play in the water and even snorkel. Being in the water together will be a lot of fun, and this doesn't need to cost you anything!

If you don't live near the beach, don't worry, there are still great options. Instead of heading to the beach, head to an area park. Throw the blanket down on the ground, and have lunch together. Sit around and talk, watch the clouds, and walk around the park together. Again, this will cost you next to nothing!

Take a bike ride together and show your date some of your favorite places around town. You may find that you have a lot of fun tooling around on your bikes, stopping to show one another your favorite places. You may even find some romantic spots off the beaten path! If you both like to bike you may find that you need little or no money to have a truly great time together during a whole afternoon.

Take the afternoon and visit the zoo. Entrance to the zoo is usually very affordable and the animals are all of the entertainment you need. You will have plenty of opportunity to talk to one another as you walk around, allowing this to be not only an entertaining time but also a time where you can get to know one another better.

A great idea if you have a backyard is to invite your date to your home, light some candles outside, put a blanket on the ground, and look at the stars together. Being in the backyard will be just secluded enough to give you privacy while you are stargazing with someone that you like.

Consider visiting a winery together. You may have a great time tasting the wine, eating samples of great food, and the cost of the day may be very little or nothing! This can be a very good time and you may have a romantic drive to get to the winery, which can't hurt, either!
