While most people turn to the well known brand names they know, because these companies spend billions of dollars every year in advertisement, they fail to spot the many great laptops which are not as well known, but offer great value. Start by thinking about all the money, names like Dell and IBM, pay every single year to get you to purchase from them, and then imagine how much of the cost of each new laptop goes into paying for all these ads. These are the name brands and are considered to be first-tier names.

You can turn to second-tier brands and still walk a way with a state of the art, top of the line laptop, but for much less money. It is these laptops that you should be looking at when you are searching for cheap new laptops. While these names may not mean anything to you, in their home countries, where they are built, they are considered top name brands. These can include laptops from Japan, China as well as Korea. They are perfectly fine and usually top of the line, but they cost a lot less.

You also need to be aware of, and try to stay clear of, those name brand laptops for sale at discount prices. These laptops will come with things like instant rebates and mail in discounts and the like. In order to avail these rebates, you have to sign up for stuff that you will never use, and if you choose not to abide by the contract after you've signed up, then you will develop very bad credit. These rebates are just a way to reel you in, and in reality you will end up paying a lot more for the laptop over the next year or so then if you were to simply pay cash up front.

Just keep in mind while you are searching for cheap new laptops that there are many other names out there and while some of them you may have heard of, others you may not have, and that means taking a trip to the internet for reviews and technical specifications. However when it is all said and done, you may be amazed with the savings you actually get when you stay clear of any name brand laptop.
