Without the backing of huge funds, it will take a lot of work, dedication and patience, but in the end your business will be a serious competitor to the big corporations.

Building your Brand online will bring your business to the front of the pack and create a following as well as generate word-of-mouth, that alone is well worth the effort to building your brand.

Need a little help building your brand. Here are a few tips to make sure you are doing the right things, from creating your own identity to enforcing it.

1. Logo
If you didn't see the Nike name on a product or marketing material, would you still recognize the swish logo? Of course, and so does everyone else. Some from my childhood are starting to sing in my head already. Where would Tony The Tiger be without his famous, "They'rrrrre Great!". Come up with a catchy slogan or motto to help build your brand recognition, and people will remember it!

3. Communication
Use and send your customers and prospects a monthly e-mail newsletter update. Simple, easy to read and short with lot of value. It makes for a great platform to add any news, promos and chances to your business. Don't forget to add a signature at the end.

4. Local Chamber of Commerce
Get involved with your community and join your local commerce, attend their events and take advantage of those opportunities to promote your brand and network with other peers.

5. Be a Sponsor
Sponsoring events that can also reach your target audience is another great way to help build your brand.
